Issue with landscape view in reader

I do a lot of reading in landscape view on the iPad. Sometimes the text is displayed in two columns, and sometimes (in the same text file) it is displayed in a single column. I really don't like to two small columns with a bunch of white space in the middle, and I much prefer a single column. I have been through the forums, instruction manual, and settings menus in the app, but can't figure out how to control this. Does any one know how to set the number of columns in landscape view for the reader? Thanks!

I'm afraid we don't offer an option for that - the reason you're sometimes seeing it in a single column is because of a bug that will sometimes cause it to stay single column if you rotate the screen into landscape while not in the reader, but we actually fixed that bug in the 3.1.4 update that we recently submitted to Apple.

We also reduced the white space around the columns a bit in that update, and you can further reduce it by turning off the "larger margins" option in settings (tap on the gear icon while viewing a reader document), but the only way to get rid of it entirely would be to disable "paginate" (in which case you'd have just one column but it would be continuously scrolling) - there's no option to change the number of columns.
