@ACardiganAndAFrown - thanks - this is only happening with characters that are highlighted / in the process of being written, right? (so if you backspace the 子 in the above screenshot it will then update the results again)

Small bug: With Pleco 3.2.2 set to night mode, the magnified view of a character/word gives me a completely black screen where the character should be in white. (running iOS 8.1)

I have a question regarding the copying of flashcards between different devices running Pleco. Do you still recommend using the Text file format over XML? With the text format, carriage returns are lost after exporting, for obvious reasons. But XML cannot easily be edited so a set of cards doesn't go into the same category it was in on the source device. What is the current state of things on that front? Are you instead focusing on perfecting sync? Thanks!

@Shun - thanks, already fixed this Night Mode bug for 3.2.3.

Import/export format development is pending our big database schema revamp - we'll be importing/exporting very different things at that point anyway.

I have a flashcard for 啥 shá, see first screenshot for the custom definition. Whenever I want to map it to a dictionary, only the entries for shà (PLC, UNI) show up, not those for shá (CC, MOE, LA). Is it because it was previously linked to shà (PLC)?

Pleco 3.2.2.

Edit: I have now updated the card text from the CC dictionary entry and this has fixed the pronunciation, but still feels like a minor bug :)

Hi, I've set the Popup Definition to "Don't dismiss on >", but if I tap the ">" button and then the Back button, the popup bubble is gone. This happens both in the Reader reading a PDF and in a Dictionary definition. Is there a way to make it stay? I'm running 3.2.2 on an iPad.

@jlnr - sorry for the slow reply. Anyway, this is by design - flashcards try to match on both characters + Pinyin - but we're planning to make flashcard Pinyin matching optional in a future release. (we do it by default because in a lot of cases it resolves meaningful ambiguity - for example, 得)

@Shun - this is a known one, waiting on a redesign of the windowing system we use for that popup bubble. No way to fix it in those places at the moment, only behaves well in text + EPUB files.

Thanks. In the Web Reader, if I tap on an input field so the keyboard comes out (on an iPad), then retract the keyboard and tap the Back button soon after, a shadow of the keyboard remains on the screen, reducing the work area. It didn't happen each time. If I switch to another app and switch back, it goes away. Possibly it's an iOS issue beyond your control.

Hmm... and you're sure that it didn't also show the sha2 entries inline if you scrolled farther down?

experiencing super lag with user dictionaries (iPhone 4 - iOS 7.1.2)

I had 灵光一闪 loaded up in my clipboard reader but when I clicked 灵 I only got dictionary results for 灵光 *even though* MoE, does, have an entry for 灵光一闪 -- not really sure how I figured out that MoE had an entry for it in the end but it obviously didn't show up the first time.

After, what I guess was user dictionaries or more specifically, MoE loaded up, properly, I was always able to get 灵光一闪 to show up in pop-up definition from just clicking on 灵.

Is this repeatable? If not, it might be that your copy of MoE had gotten corrupted in some way, in which case Pleco would quietly repair it in the background and continue humming along merrily without it until it was fixed. (we don't fix things like this immediately on startup because obviously a blank unresponsive screen is much worse than a missing dictionary)

Yep. I can even (kind of) reproduce it: Add 啥 shà from PLC, turn it into a custom card and change the pronunciation to shá. When I want to turn it back into a dictionary card, Pleco only offers PLC and UNI (啥 shà).

OK, found the problem now - you have PLC set as your first dictionary in Manage Dictionaries, right? At the moment, that screen stops searching through dictionaries as soon as it finds one with a character match, and only tries to find a pronunciation match within results from that dictionary, so until we fix that (which is tricky enough coding-wise that it might not happen for a few releases) I'd suggest going into Manage Dictionaries and putting CC or ABC on top instead of PLC if you want to get pronunciations that only appear in one of those.

Here are two minor things I'm experiencing on an iPad Air 2:

- With the iPad in landscape mode, looking at English full-text search results (searching for "good wishes", for example) with the results list on the left, if I pick a word with a long set of definitions, scroll down a good bit and then switch to a word with few definitions by tapping it in the results list, I see a blank screen on the right, and am forced to scroll back to the top to see them. So here, the initial position of the definition pane should always be at the very top.

- With "Reduce Transparency" turned off in iOS's Accessibility settings, I get a nice transparency effect in most places in Pleco, but it flickers a bit too much when scrolling. I also get flickers and less contrast when an alert is displayed in the center of the screen.

Thanks!
