Create Duplicates of Custom Cards

Hey Mike,

I'm trying out the cloze deletion method for working on 成语 and less intuitive sayings to work on more active recall. I know you guys dont have something like surusu that does this automatically.

Is there currently a way to make duplicates of a custom card? I have thousands of custom sentence flashcards, many of which include sentences I'd like to convert to cloze deletion style card, and I'd prefer not to have to go back in on excel and make the duplicates that way.

So you know, here is what I'm tlakig about.

Origina sentence:

我今天去上课

Cards I would create:
我今X去上课
我今天X上课
我今天去X课

Making duplicates would allow me to keep the existing pinyin and definition in the card and just have to go back and delete and add X's. Does that make sense?

While I'm here, I'm also having trouble exporting card lists in a way that is readable on excel on my comp. I'm doing it as .txt files and it is reading on excel with a bunch of unrecognizable symbols. Any ideas?

Also also, I just liked a thread that advocated for pleco merch. I'm pro. Let the subculture show its stripes!

No way to do that at the moment, no - only thing I can think of aside from exporting / reimporting it is to convert it to a user dictionary entry and then make two cards from that. We're pretty definitely adding cloze support in 4.0 so I wouldn't invest a ton of time in this now honestly.

1) Any insight into my exporting/reimporting issues? When I export .txt files and open on excel many of the symbols seem to be unreadable.

2) When is 4.0 set to drop?

1) Probably a text encoding issue - if you open via Excel's "Open" dialog it should let you choose a text encoding so it'll work better.
