Flashcard Creation and UI Questions

Hello Mike,

I currently have the Tuttle Learner's Dictionary as my first dictionary in the list, followed by the "Neue Chinesisch-Deutsch" dictionary. I added new flashcards using the "+" symbol in a Pop-up definition. When a word I tapped on is defined in the Tuttle Learner's, that definition is correctly assigned to a new flashcard. When I add a word that is only defined in the "Neue Chinesisch-Deutsch" using the "+" button, unfortunately the new flashcard isn't linked to that second-in-line dictionary but instead is saved as an empty card with only the pinyin field populated and the definition field remaining.

Do you already have this on the radar, or is the fix ready for the next beta?

Many thanks,

Shun

Sorry, not quite sure if I understand - so you have a popup showing an NHD definition and no flashcard, you tap on the + button, and it creates a flashcard with nothing filled in in 'entry body' at all? Could you give me an example of a word this is happening with? (I can't seem to reproduce it here even with the old app)

I think that, like LLMs often do, I was hallucinating a little. After some further analysis, I've determined that problem seems to have been caused by HSK 2 cards that were already in the database but for some reason weren't properly linked to any dictionary. They had pinyin, but no definition. Then of course adding a new duplicate entry for them did not change that.

With Pleco 4 and probably even 3, a whole range of dictionaries can be selected when importing word lists, which is great and seems to work. The only remaining problem might have to do with flashcards imported from the Pleco 3 database losing their dictionary links, but of course that's more of a side issue that may not require immediate attention.

Sorry for the false alarm.
