retrieve old version for IPOD Touch IOS 6.1.6

Hello,
I have an old IPOD Touch that I specially bought to use PLECO in december 2010.
It worked perfectly well.
I then bought an IPAD and a IPHONE 5S, on which I installed Pleco too.
I always get my applications and their updates through my PC Windows Vista, which saves the content of my 3 devices.
In August afters saving my IPOD Touch on my computer I scratched it.
Yesterday I wanted to reuse it, and restored it from my computer.
But Pleco doesnt install anymore.
I suppose it's because the new Pleco is not compatible with my old IOS.
How can recover an old compatible version on this device, without damaging this on IPHONE and IPAD ?

I really hope someone could help me.
Thank you in advance
Louise

You have to have iPod touch ,generation 5,iOS 7 plus some number .
Pleco says so.
I have iPod 4, iOS 6.1.6... Won't work ...too bad
Go to setting..general..get model number.
Google this model number...I bet you see generation 4 for your iPod
Like mine.. Gen 4 iPod can not upgrade to iOS greater than 6.1.6.
Apple co should up the iOS to more than 6.1.6....bad company!!!

Thank you for replying.
The problem is that it worked perfectly until I uninstalled the whole device.
I thought that having saved my IPOD on my computer before uninstalled it, restoring the device from the computer would restore PLECO as it was when saving it.
But it doesn't.
That's why I asked how to retrieve the old version I had before.

If you put your iPod on WiFi you should be able to download it directly from the App Store - can't do it from iTunes because iTunes isn't smart enough to download an old version of an app for you, but the App Store on your iPod will put up a friendly "latest version isn't compatible with your device, would you like to download an old version instead?" alert if you try to download the latest version of Pleco.
