Adding notes (mnemonics) to dictionary entry flashcards

Hi Guys,

Is there a way of adding notes (mnemonics) to dictionary entry flashcards, without losing the structure/functionality of the original dictionary entry cards?

So usually, if I "covert to custom card", it'll bring all the dictionary information with it, but it loses the nice dictionary entry structure, it kind of all gets bunched up with no new lines between definition, example sentence, pinyin, ect..... It also loses the blue clickable words in the example sentences. Is there anyway I can add notes to the nice dictionary cards without losing it all?

Another thing has just popped up whilst writing this as well, all of a sudden, now when I click "cover to custom card", it doesn't even bring the dictionary information over with it, it's just a blank definition section. Is there any way I can fix this? It still works from PLC, but not Tuttle Learners, it was working from Tuttle learners before though until I accidently clicked "convert to user dictionary entry" on a card.

Thanks a bunch,

Lachy.

At the moment the closest you could get to that would be to turn on the 'show switch dict option' setting in New Test / Display and create a user dictionary with your notes, which you could then flip to through that option to see if there were any notes available. The inability to convert from some dictionaries to plaintext is a licensing restriction.

You could also write a card with a short definition and your notes, then use that dictionary switching feature to view dictionary definitions and example sentences once the card is revealed - this might be good for memorization purposes anyway since you could narrow down to just the definitions you're interested in for complex words.

We're working on a better solution for this - actually two, a dedicated notes field and a change to having the dictionary text be a little {{}} transclusion tag in the definition field which you can insert stuff above / below - but I don't have any information to share on when that will be released on Android.
