Chars components, flashcard directories

1) I have a problem with the way the character components get broken down. When you view the stroke order for 脫 you see that the radical is 肉, but when we click on "chars" it says 月。 Other examples肖, 脫, 胝, 膑, 胎, 胆.

Also with the components, for some words, like 掛, the radical is 手, instead of giving me 手 you get 扌, which is correct but it will take you to the radical definition when I would like to go to the actual word. Example of this would be 掛 (not what I want mentioned above) and 髒 (what I want) the radical is 骨, under chars you get the actual 骨.

2) For organizing cards do you a limit on subdirectories? From the root I have /AV Chinese/B2/L07. When I try to create a subdirectory under L07 it never gets created.

Thank You

1) Yes, some characters with 月 technically use 肉 as their radical. (though radical input in general is an area we'd very much like to improve)

The CHARS database is meant more as a visual than a linguistic breakdown - this remains true in the new version of it (based on totally different data) that we now use on iOS and will soon be using on Android; hence, it shows the exact components that appear in the character rather than the underlying linguistic breakdowns. At the moment it also still keeps 手 / 扌 separate - visually they're quite distinct - but the shrunken components generally link back to the original one through "radical" which is now listed at the top of CHARS instead of at the bottom of STROKE.

2) Yes, currently limited to three levels - that limit was based on some technical constraints from several years ago but we've had very little demand for more levels and aren't sure whether it's worth making that change a priority (would actually be quite a bit of work).
