English search in selfmade dictionary

I've been working on a cntonese-english dictionary (basically i just copied all the entries from an online website and imported it into a dictionary). But i can't search in it using english. Is it some kind of setting that i've missed to change or is this function not possible?

That's not currently supported in user dictionaries - been on our to-do list for a while, but since full-text indexing isn't supported in the version of the SQLite database engine that's built into iOS, it's a rather time-consuming project.
