Is there a way to have the flashcard fade away when being tested. Say I'm being tested on 張, it will display for a few seconds then start to fade away, or just disappear. Leaving me to test not only my memory but also my reading.

No, it's a fun idea but as I mentioned in another post recently these kinds of game-like features are hard to justify unless they're part of a more comprehensive redesign to shift our flashcard system in that general direction.
