Font sizes

I notice legacy Pleco lists font sizes in (I think) point sizes (e.g. 24, 32, etc), but in Pleco 4.0, it seems the sizes are only displayed as percentages. How can I understand the mapping between the point size and the percentage? I'm noticing the font sizes aren't quite what I'm used to and trying to adjust them (could be that they were not migrated properly).

In the settings page for font sizes in the Reader section, it seems regardless of what percentage I set for the values, I am always getting the same font size when I open a document (even if I open new files). Am I maybe looking in the wrong place?

Yes, that's a consequence of our adopting iOS system font scaling - any use of set point sizes is disfavored now, a TON of people use their phones at something other than the default text scale so our app is now designed to adapt to that. At the default iOS font scale settings, body text is 17 points, so if that's what you're using then you can think of percentages relative to that. (but perhaps it would make sense for us to report the translated point numbers on that screen too)

Those font sizes are just for the reader bubble; for a document, tap on the 'gear' icon at the top of the document to change its size, and you can make that the default for other documents of the same type with the 'make default' option at the bottom of that screen.

I see. When settings are imported, is it possible to preserve the same percentages as point sizes that were used before? At least for my use cases, the default font sizes used on the legacy version worked perfectly fine for me on both my iPad and iPhone. I don't think I ever adjusted those from the defaults. There seems to be a lot of configurability now with the new font system, and I am finding I am having to tweak a lot of font sizes and go back and forth a lot to get what I want.

In the reader, the gear item is a per document setting not a global reader setting, right? (I also did not notice that before). Can I configure the default size that all documents that come up in the reader will have? I am finding the new size significantly smaller than whatever the default was before. Having to do this on a per-document basis is a bit inconvenient. Thx.

They should have been preserved, actually, but they might not have been if the migration was interrupted.

There's a 'make default' option at the bottom of that settings screen, yes.

Ah, thanks! Next time I try the migration I'll see it it fixes it. Thanks for pointing out the make default option!

Another observation is the default font size seems to work when opening other documents, but when opening up clipboard reader, the default size selected does not seem to be honoured.
