Garbage instead of Chinese on Treo 600?

I am the new proud owner of a Treo 600. I configured my Treo just like my Clie and while the Clie works fine I am not seeing Chinese on the Treo. Just about everything is on the card in /Palm/Programs/Oxford/ except for the main program, customer IDX and HWR files.

OxDict seems to be finding everying except the font files. I have both 12 and 24 loaded just in case there was a resolution problem. I am seeing 'Greek' and accented Roman chars instead of Chinese.

That's strange... Are you sure that you installed the most current version of the dictionary application (i.e., one recently downloaded from http://www.pleco.com/oxforddownload.html ) and that you installed the font files correctly? Have you tried reinstalling them into RAM to see if that fixes the problem? (they should work fine from VFS, but just as a way of isolating the cause...) And are you sure that "Enable Chinese Display" is enabled in the Options screen? (you get to it in the "Dict" menu, I can't remember how to bring up the menu bar on a Treo but I'm sure the user manual will tell you)Aside from those simple things all I can suggest is that you try deleting and reinstalling the dictionary - we have many other customers using the dictionary successfully on the Treo 600 so I'm pretty sure it's not some sort of inherent hardware-related bug.

Treo 600 issues

DOH! I enabled Chinese display and that fixed the problem of no Chinese at all.
However, there is now a more interesting problem:

When I first look up a word, everything is fine. If I tap on the main character, all Chinese in the definition turns to garbage. Once I tap on the main character, if I then tap anywhere in the definition, the main character turns to garbage and the Chinese in the definition is displayed. I can go back and forth; tapping on one turns the other to garbage. However, I MUST tap on the main character first to start this behavior. If I tap on the simplified/traditional button, both character and definition return to Chinese and I can restart the 'cycle' by tapping on the main character.

To further narrow down the problem I did the following:

Deleted the dictionary completely from internal and external
Reinstalled from latest download - 100% internal - no change
Deleted completely
Reinstalled from latest download - Dict and HWR internal, all else in the /Oxford directory on the card - no change.

24 size char sets are not recognized on the Treo 600; I have to use the 12 size.

Confirmed, this appears to only affect the Treo but it is indeed a reproducible bug and hopefully one we'll be able to fix for the upcoming 2.0.5 update. (though sadly every day we spend on that is a day later that PlecoDict will come out...)
