How to upload words from computer to Iphone?

I would like to upload list of words in simplified character to my iphone to make flash cards. I have the words in Word Document. When I tried to upload I got the message it was successful but then I don't find them. Do I need to have the words in Excel?

In a tab-delimited text file, actually - easiest way is to have them in Excel and then copy-and-paste them into a text editor app like NotePad on Windows or TextWrangler on Mac. If it's just words without PInyin or definitions, though, you can simply save it out of Word as "Unicode Text" or "Encoded Text."
