IPA symbols for English pronunciation in Oxford Pocket

The Oxford pocket dictionary used to show pronunciation for English words.
In fact, it is a feature that is still advertised on the web site at http://www.pleco.com/anmanual/oxford.html
huge /hjuːdʒ/ adj ... hugely adv ...
house¹ /haʊs/ n [C] ... ˈhousework n ...

Note the IPA symbols hjuːdʒ to the right from huge.
It appears that after recent updates IPA symbols have disappeared.

Is there a way to bring them back?

You can re-download the old version of POCD from:

http://d26r4pfa6wznjb.cloudfront.net/p2pocd-121104.zip

Delete the new version, copy this old file into Pleco's file manager screen and tap on it to install.

Note, however, that the display will be somewhat garbled (those IPA characters may show up in odd places) and that we'll likely be dropping support for this old database format entirely in a future release; if you'd like to keep IPA support in POCD then I would suggest that you avoid installing any future Pleco updates (and disable automated update installation on your iPhone so that you don't get them by accident).

Unfortunately, supporting IPA within our merged multi-dictionary system is problematic and it's not a feature that sees wide enough use to justify investing the engineering time to get it working well - we already skipped IPA in many of our E-C dictionaries and in 3.0 we removed it from the few that still had it because of those problems.
