iPod Touch screen size and flash cards

Using flash cards on my Windows Mobile platform, I like to enter multi-character Chinese phrases, for example 好久不见. I also like to enter the corresponding Pinyin. There's no problem getting all of this on the screen on my Dell Axim, but it sure doesn't look very hopeful for my new iPod Touch. Is there any solution? Am I faced with buying an iPad in order to get enough real estate on the screen? I have a capacitive stylus on order, but I have no idea if it will give me the ability to write smaller text.

We actually give you the entire screen area (minus the keyboard) to enter text in each of those fields on iPhone, and the display font size can easily be adjusted to make sure sentences fit comfortably on the screen; we've got lots of customers entering and using sentence-length flashcards quite happily in our iPhone software. For handwriting input of headword characters we hide the keyboard and let you draw anywhere on the screen, so you shouldn't even need a capacitive stylus for that.
