pronouncing 2+ character words

I just got the software and am very happy to start using it. I am pretty clumsy so need help. How to I get only the pronunciation in my text (not all) and how do I combine various characters to make a word so I can work on correct pronunciation in my text? Thanks very much.

You can get pronunciation in text for a single word by highlighting it and tapping on the audio pronunciation button, but we don't support playing audio for larger sequences of text yet - we're worried that doing it syllable-by-syllable would be both inaccurate and irritatingly slow.
