Reading epub files in Reader

Didnt realise this was possible til today so i put an epub file (Mandarin Companion) in Pleco via iTunes. Only getting babble. Anything i can do to rectify this? Using iOS 8 on an iPad Air.

The file might be copy-protected - where did you get it from?

Bought it on iBooks.

Yeah, that unfortunately won't work then - would need a DRM-free EPUB.
