software compatibility (pidirectII)

Hello. I have a Visor Pro, with OS 3.5.2. I am considering buying PiDirectII as an app to move the Oxford Dictionary to my SmartMedia card.. any idea whether the app/database is supported for PiDirect II? Thanks in advance^^.

Actually, I went ahead and tried it, and the app seems to work. I don't think I can use the flashcard functionality, as files on an external storage device is limited to read-only, but I never quite figured that out anyway.

Glad to hear that it's working for you. I'm not too familiar with PiDirect, but the flashcard system *should* work, as the dictionary creates the flashcard data file in RAM by default. Let me know if you encounter any issues using PiDirect and I'll see what I can do to help you...

1) i was using pidiredt II with ALL the dictionary files on the card, including the handwriting recognition ones.

after using the dictionary for a while, my device (clie sj33) says "out of memory" and i have to reset.

2) I tried without pidirect. i moved the handwriting recognition files to RAM, but left the other dictionary files on the memory stick in the "/launcher" directory.

Works fine, but everytime i exit the dictionary, the handwriting recognition files in RAM get deleted. In the end, i used filez to set the handwriting files to "read only". Seems to be ok now.

Any ideas why the above are happening?
