We've been sending these around to people by e-mail for a few weeks now, and since they seem to make a difference in a lot of cases I figure they should probably be posted here too.

These patched versions of Pleco fix issues with the Palm OS version failing to correctly locate data files on an SD card on startup ("No Fonts Found" error, usually) and with the Windows Mobile 2003 version (and only WM2003, we haven't had any reports of this on WM5/6 yet) failing to start up at all (screen doesn't change) - they both seem to involve bad / corrupted files on people's SD cards so that's why we're lumping them together.

These patches do not make any other changes, so there's no reason to install them if you're not having problems with the software failing to start up.

Windows Mobile 2003 (NOT for Windows Mobile 5 or 6): http://www.pleco.com/beta/pc200a-startupcardfix-wm2003.zip
(version number in About box: 2.0.0a-d3)

Palm OS: http://www.pleco.com/beta/pp200-startupcardfix.zip
(version number in About box: 2.0.0d2)

To update on Palm, just install the updated application file to your handheld and it'll replace the regular b8b one. On Windows Mobile, exit Pleco completely with the Quit command in the Dict menu, then connect your handheld to your desktop, go into its memory through My Computer and copy the updated Pleco application file into your \\Program Files\Pleco folder (My Computer, Mobile Device, My Windows Mobile-Based Device, Program Files, Pleco on XP, or on Vista, My Computer, (your handheld's name), /, Program Files, Pleco), replacing the version that's already there, or just install / run the updated .cab.
