I'm using the android version of the app, and for years this has been the case. On random parts of each dictionary, I can copy the text fine, which I can then paste onto an online translator to translate to English (since most of the dictionaries are Chinese --> Chinese).
However 80% of the text on every dictionary you can't do that. Instead I have to click on the first character and press the right arrow repeatedly for ages, and then press the copy button once all the paragraphs have been copied, just so I can translate the Chinese and understand what it's saying. This is very inconvenient and I hope it gets fixed. But it's been like this for years.
