"Pleco Unavailable" (on Kindle Fire)

This is the header for the error message I got this morning when I tried to open Pleco. It continues, "This app was built on an older version of Fire OS and will not work properly until it's updated to the new version. We have notified the developer and will provide the updated app when a new version is available." Has anyone else run into this? I admit my device isn't the newest (Fire 8 HD 8th Gen, Fire OS 7.3.3.1).

Sorry, we haven’t released an update through Amazon’s store in many years - actually I’m embarrassed to say we didn’t even know there was anybody still using that version.

Anyway, I’m afraid it’s not possible for us to update our app on Amazon’s store at this point - it’s no longer in compliance with their (very restrictive) store policies and could not easily be brought into compliance - but you can download an up to date APK version of Pleco to your tablet from:

pleco.com/getandroid

And then click on the permission prompt to install it.
