Here is the first lesson vocab from the LDS missionary Chinese book. I plan to do the other lessons in the near future. Let me know if there are problems. I didn't make many of the phrases into cards, but instead just included the relevant words on their own. And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men.

The first lesson had errors that should be corrected now. The second lesson is up now, too. Also, I am uploading these same lists to Skritter.

Thanks! That is sweet. The combined factors of not having served a Chinese-speaking mission, not often having access to a Mandarin-speaking ward/branch, and wanting to learn correct ecclesiastical vocabulary can be a recipe for frustration. Keep up the good work!

Here is Lesson 4. It took a lot longer to finish, but Lesson 5 is nearly done and will follow soon after. Please let me know of any errors you find.

Here is Lesson 5. That is it for the missionary lessons. I may make sets of the missionary skills and vocab in the future, time willing. Look for these on Skritter, too, and let me know of errors.

Here is the (likely) final missionary Chinese orange book list I will post on here. While the missionary lessons represent the first part of the book, and phrases represents the majority of the second part, the third part is mostly normal vocab by category that a person would need to survive and get by, so most of it is not religious. I admit I did not get every word into this list; most of the ones I didn't were proper nouns or noun phrases that were very difficult to add into pleco, especially if I couldn't see the characters in the book very clearly. The vast majority is here, and this is all common, very useful vocab in easy categories.

Thank you A TON. I learned Chinese in a secular setting and felt that I would be wasting my talent not to learn to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Chinese as well. This saves me A TON of time of having to look up all the characters in PMG :p

Hi Seth!

I am so grateful for these definitions! I am new to Pleco, and don't know how to make these into flashcards. I've bought the flashcard add-on, but could you give some direction on what I need to do to make these words into flashcards?

Thanks!

Hi trs143,

may I ask, are you using Pleco on an iPhone or Android device? The way the text file is brought into Pleco differs somewhat between these two OSes.

Cheers, Shun

Thanks! In this case, I suggest saving the text file from your Android device's web browser to your Downloads folder. Then, in Pleco, you can go into "Import / Export", select the file you just saved, and use the following settings: (looks a little different on iOS, but the options are essentially the same)

After you tap "Begin Import", all the words in the list will be saved to your flashcards database.

Feel free to ask if you run into any issues.

Hope this helps,

Shun
