Can Siri Shortcuts be used with Pleco on IOS?

I know that Pleco has the built in browser, however, I still like to use either Chrome or safari for IOS to consume media.
As Pleco doesn’t have extensions, is there a way to use Siri Shortcuts to look up and pass back the definition?

My ideal situation would be I highlight a Chinese character in Chrome and I can use shortcuts for it to look up a word in Pleco and pass it back to me.

Yes - make an open URL shortcut with a URL like this:

plecoapi://x-callback-url/s?q=(your search term)

Thank you! I must be doing it incorrectly then. after I create a shortcut and run it, it seems to just pastes my character I highlighted to a notepad looking thing in pleco. is this expected?

You're welcome! I think so, yes. It does that for me, too. If you select a large amount of text, you can pass it to Pleco and read it there in the Clipboard reader, tapping on words you don't know. I guess that's preferable to having to switch back and forth between the apps.
