HW60 - yes, we haven't enabled full-text search in user dictionaries yet; we'll do it as soon as we drop support for Palm OS, but for various reasons it would be really really tricky to do it while we continue supporting Palm. (it'll still be optional even then, an additional index you can choose to create via Manage Dicts, since full-text indexes take up a lot of space and significantly slow down the already-slow process of importing new user dictionary entries)
