Basic use of Spaced Rep with large quantity of cards

Recently started using the flashcards to take my Chinese to the next level. I downloaded the HSK collection and I want to use spaced repetition for the HSK 7-9 flashcards. Why is it that when I’m starting a fresh SR profile, no cards are due for review? Why is it the flashcards with different records have the same score? What does the time counter at the top right mean? How do I establish some baseline level with the cards in this set? Or will the space repetition profile began as soon as I start? When will I stop getting the session complete message as soon as I start a new test? I realize this is a lot of questions I don’t wanna set myself up for failure. Thanks in advance.

Is that profile using the same 'scorefile' as an existing profile? You can configure it to use a new one in New Test / Scoring, otherwise the last review dates / scores / etc will be shared with that one.

The score is basically just the current SRS interval, so an incorrect answer might reset it back to 100 = one day.

What does the time counter at the top right mean?
It varies depends on how your status fields are set up in New Test / Display but it's probably just set to how long the test has been running for.

How do I establish some baseline level with the cards in this set? Or will the space repetition profile began as soon as I start?
It should begin as soon as you start, yes.

When will I stop getting the session complete message as soon as I start a new test?
This sounds like it might be related to your first question - if multiple profiles are sharing the same scorefile then you could easily find yourself in a situation where it already thinks all of your cards due to review that day have been reviewed.
