Bottom menu bar

Once or twice while I was in the dictionary search view, and I have a word definition on the screen, I can see a menu bar at the bottom with a few different options, one of which is to open the reader. I think there are maybe 4 or 5 options in that menu bar, which looks like a horizontal block across the bottom of the screen. After I selected one option, and return back to the main dictionary view, I can no longer see the menu. I can’t seem to replicate what causes it to show up or disappear. Any ideas?

Somehow I got it to appear again, but not sure what I did. It disappear again after, so not sure what causes it to appear and disappear. Here is a screenshot.

That's actually only supposed to appear in split view mode (or on an iPhone, but split-screen is why it's supported at all on iPad). It doesn't do anything different from the sidebar menu.

Interesting. I wasn’t using split screen at all whenever it appeared (I am indeed using and iPad). It seems relatively rare, but sometimes just mysteriously shows up and then disappears. If I can find out what seems to trigger it when not using split screen, I’ll let you know.
