Bugwatch - bookmarks disappearing in Android

I'm using an oppo phone with the Android operating system and in Pleco the bookmarks simply vanish and I have to restart the phone to recover them. When I click on "organise cards" the app simply crashes. Restarting the phone works, problem recurs within hours. Restarting the app does nothing.

Hmm... is there any sort of a cloud backup or storage clearing function on your phone that you can turn off? Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app? Did you install it originally from Google Play or somewhere else?

I think from google play, i dont know about cloud storage but couldnt find anything about that in settings. Its too much trouble to uninstall and try to redo all of my settings and bookmarks to chase down a bug.
Edit: i just found when the bug starts, it also wont register "english search mode" ie, it wont search for english headwords. "Spain" will find that word in the chinese section but not as an English headword. It works fine after restarting the phone, same as bookmarks.

Yeah, this looks very much like an issue with connecting to your device storage then. You can back up your settings at the bottom of the Settings screen and back up your bookmarks/flashcards in Import/Export / Backup Database if you'd like to try reinstalling. Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot to suggest for this sort of bug - if you bought the app recently and would like a refund email support and we can hopefully set that up for you.

Nice, but i deleted and reinstalled, like you said, and now i cant even reinstall the bookmarks. Ok, edit, got it back by restarting the phone, but pls be careful with this sort of advice. You can just lose existing functionality.
