I just wanted to ask what services and tools are people using to learn Mandarin. Personally, I am using three main tools, not including my textbooks.
1) Pleco dict, which I am not ashamed to say is my favorite Chinese learning tool in the whole wide world.
2) Wenlin, which is good, but could really use an update to the interface and to its vocabulary lists.
3) Chinesepod, which I think is full of relevant new and good content.
However, all of these tools are sort of self-study tools.
Personally -- I have found that talking with people has been really helpful. Given the voice chat technologies -- it is really easy to find actual Chinese from the Mainland or Taiwan to talk to.
