Excluding premade flashcards

Hi, I'm looking for some flashcard help.

I installed the premade flashcards because I wanted an easy way to have HSK level tags. This is particularly useful for me for new words I encounter, so I can gauge the level of things I don't know.

However, now all this words have the + sign with a box around it, as they technically have flashcards already. This is quite unhelpful, as now I can't distinguish actual new words from words I personally added to my flashcards and forgot about. It also makes creating new flashcards very slow, as I need to go through the pop up, double check if the word is just in the premade decks or an actual duplicate, and if not then add it.

Is there a way to completely exclude the premade cards from everything except tagging?

There's no way to exclude premade cards from everything, but are you adding your cards to a specific category other than 'uncategorized'? If not, create one in Organize Cards, then long-press the + button and select that category, which will become the default for new cards until you long-press it again. After that, any card that is not in that category will have a dotted box around the +, so you can easily tell whether you've bookmarked it as a new word yet. (you could also add a tag to this category to give you another way to spot it)

Hm, I think the extra tag idea will do. Changing the default category doesn't help much, as I have a workflow where I bookmark new words as I find them and then move them to a test category after I've had time to study them, so a card not being present in the default category doesn't help much. I'll try the extra tags, thanks.
