flashcards disappeared...

Hi Michael--

Great product and many thanks for the hard work and continuous fixes and upgrades. Didn't see this problem in the forums, sorry in advance if it is a repeat...

On my Dopod 818 (Windows Mobile) device, the flashcards started over back to default, and all of my flashcard lists disappeared from the software. They are physically still there, on the hard drive, in 'my documents', but Pleco is not detecting them or has decided to ignore them.

Note: My Pleco is installed on SD drive, but never had this problem before. I tried moving the flashcard PEB files to the SD drive, but no luck there either.

Which version of PlecoDict are you using? Did this problem occur using 1.0 or using one of the earlier Beta versions? There was a bug that could cause flashcard database files to be corrupted with Betas 1-3, but we fixed it in 1.0 - I suppose there could be another flashcard-corrupting bug out there, but this would be the first we'd heard of it.

The first thing I'd recommend is that you move the file back to My Documents and look to see if there's another flashcard peb file in there. If you do have more than one flashcard file, try moving all but one of them to the root \\ directory of your Pocket PC, then start PlecoDict and see if your flashcard lists come up. If not, try each of the other files in turn and see if any of them restore your old flashcard lists.

If that doesn't work, about the only other thing I can suggest is that you attach the files to an e-mail and send them to support@pleco.com - we can take a look at them and see if there's any data corruption or some other such problem.
