Handwriting input disappeared?

hi, my friend installed the beta today, and can't seem to find the handwriting input anywhere? i cant seem to find a setting to enable it or disable it. it was available for them on the regular version though. any idea?

Did they send their “registration id”? Some features need to be enabled differently for the beta version.
