MemoryMgr.c,Line:4475,Invalid chunk ptr

Hi all,

I hit the above error quite often, I think especially in the flash card function. Does anyone has similar problem? My device is Sony CLIE SJ30 hi res with 16Mb RAM. Balance memory available about 1.6Mb :(

Are you sure you're using the latest version of the dictionary? I thought we'd eliminated most of these by now. We're not doing too much more work on the old flashcard system at this point, since the whole thing is getting tossed out and revamped for our next major release, but if there's a bug this significant out there we'd still like to get it fixed :D

Memory error problem

I'm not sure this helps but I am using a Sony Clie PEG-SJ33/U (1.5M free of 16M) fairly extensively with Oxford version 2.0.3 loaded on the Memory Stick and I haven't gotten that problem. The software seems to be very stable.

Oxford Concise.. on my tungsten C crash when I insert a SD

I've got the dictionary working on my Tungsten C for some times without problem. I've just bought a 256Mb SD Card.
Now, when the card is inserted and I try to launch Dictionary, my palm crash with this message :

db_user.c, Line:163, User DB Load Failed
R?initialiser

What should I do to be able to use my SD Card ?

(if you make some correction, can you include my 1st Wish : when you click on a character or a word, pinyin appear ?)

Two ways to fix this:

1) Install the 2.0.4 update, which eliminates this problem. It's available on our download page at http://www.pleco.com/download.html.

or:

2) Use a program like Filez (http://www.nosleep.net) to delete the files "IDX_CEDICT" and/or "IDX_UniChin" from your Tungsten's RAM.

And thanks for the suggestion, we're looking at implementing something like that in the next big release.

Hi Mike and fellow members..sorry for late reply as I caught up with some things, anyway after checking the download, i have the OXEC204.EXE, so I think i'm on the right path as far as version is concern, but lately this problem has not occured after I had installed the other CE dicts such as the Unichin and CEDICT. Could it be the absence of these dictionaries that caused the error?

I suppose it's possible, though given the way our source code is organized it seems doubtful... if anyone else is having this problem and doesn't have the custom dictionaries installed, let me know and there are some tests we can do to figure out if it really does have something to do with custom dicts. None of our stress testing revealed any problems like this, but we obviously don't have every single Palm OS handheld that's ever existed to test on...
