Need info on BOLD

Hi Mike,

I know MakePlecoDict isn't really supported, but can you tell me if there is a coding method for turning on/off Bold format in the Definition field?

For example, I tried using HTML (b) and (/b) around the target text to set as Bold, which of course didn't work. I'd like to set Pinyin examples as Bold formatting, as in some of the Pleco dicts I have, for example ABC, NWP etc.

Thanks!

Do a search on the forums for MakePlecoDict. You'll find this has been asked before.

Basically, you need to input a special byte to turn bold on, and another byte to turn it off. It's not exactly intuitive but it's probably the easiest way for them (and keeps files small).

Can't remember off the top of my head, but they're out there somewhere. You'll also need an editor which can input user-defined byte codes. EmEditor is great for that (among other things).

I'll see if I can dredge up the thread at some point.

Thanks Ipsi,

Searching on MakePlecoDict I didn't locate it, but searching "bold" it popped up-- =sorry to be slow on the uptake!

New line: EAB1
Bold On: EAB2
Bold Off: EAB3

1,2,3, whaddayaknow!

Thanks!
