Pleco Screen Reader shortcut for iOS

I made a Pleco Screen Reader shortcut that I'm happy to share here. It's designed to be triggered from Control Center. You pull up the content you want to OCR, hit the button in Control Center, and the shortcut will take a screenshot (which is then discarded), get the text from the screenshot, and open it in the Pleco clipboard reader. It will then automatically put a title on the clipboard (the name of the app the screenshot came from and a timestamp) so if you save the text to a file you can just paste in the title.

Pleco obviously has OCR capabilities, but this is a fast alternative.

EDIT:
Shortcut V2 with a bug fix
Alternate version that lets you choose which version of Pleco to open but doesn't open clipboard reader (see post below)

Hi lookslikerain,

thanks, a nice idea! I tried it out, but after taking a screenshot, it wanted to open Pleco Legacy. Should it not launch the 4.0 beta and open the Clipboard Reader there?

Cheers, Shun

Hi Shun, I actually don't have Legacy installed on my phone anymore; I just use 4.0. The shortcut uses the Pleco URL scheme, which seems like its the same for all versions of Pleco, so somehow the system is choosing which Pleco to open. For me that's 4.0 since it's the only one, but for you its obviously Legacy .

As a workaround, you could try this version of the shortcut, where you manually select which app to open when you install the shortcut. If both Pleco apps show in the list. you should be able to choose the right one. I can't test it though cause I don't have access to Legacy anymore.

The downside is this version just opens the app, not the clipboard reader. If your app is not set to open the clipboard reader automatically, you'll want to delete everything in the shortcut after "Open Pleco" because otherwise the shortcut will refill your clipboard with an auto-generated file name to paste in, replacing the reader text before you have the chance to open it in Pleco.
