The texts were supplied by Ipsi and a couple of others.

not exactly meant to help beginners, the Gutenberg project offers a broad variety of texts, from the classics to Lu Xun, in plain text utf-8 and for free.

150 short dialogues, intermediate level, simplified characters. Retyped them from some Russian-made textbook a couple years ago.
