unlock file / plecodict font 15

Finally 1.0, thanks!

After I run the unlock program I found a rather fat font file occupying around 650kb in memory with the name "PlecoDict Font 15". What is the purpose of this particular font file?

Since my T|T is rather tight on memory, is it fine to move this new font file to an external memory card (SD card)?

The new HWR engine seems to eat up a lot of more memory... What about the files named "PlecoDict SC/TC HWR #": are they still required in order to run PlecoDict? Or are these old leftovers which I should remove? I notice that their creation date is somewhere in April around the time when I installed beta3. Being able to remove them would free up around 550~600 kBytes.

PS: a really unimportant question: why is this version called "1.0a"? "a" doesn't stand for "alpha" I guess, right?

It's the large low-resolution font; it's not needed on your T|T, so you can certainly delete it. Same goes for the PlecoDict SC/TC HWR files; they're no longer used by the new recognizer.

The 1.0a is because we had another 1.0 prior to the one we actually released, and we wanted a way to tell them apart. It certainly doesn't refer to alpha or anything like that.

Mike,

thank you very much for the information. I've successfully removed the old handwriting recognition files and the unnecessary lowres font file. That gives me around 700kb more free memory.
