What is the Blue Square Next to Eraser Icon?

Hello. I am new to this forum. I am living in Taiwan and several friends recommended Pleco to me. I love it!

I had a problem with my Palm and had to do a hard reset today. I downloaded the software again and it works just fine.

Except one thing. Next to the eraser icon there is a blue quare. When I click on it, it becomes solid. Does this have a function? Should I try to fix it or remove it? How?

It enables or disables your Palm's built-in onscreen writing feature; with the box filled in, you can write English text anywhere on the screen, but this might interfere with using PlecoDict so we included that box to allow you to easily enable/disable it. (it's automatically disabled when you're using our handwriting recognizer)
