what is the max number of characters allowed on a flash card

I just got the iPad pro. Lots of screen space! How do I test myself on flash cards with more than 4 characters? Pleco seems to be limited to flash cards with just 4 characters.

The 4 character limit applies even on the iPad Pro - we don't want people making flashcards that they can only use on some of their devices; we are planning to expand the limit in the future though. > 4 character cards work in other test types like self-graded and multi-choice, just not in fill-in-the-blanks; you can use a filter in Card Filters to use one of those test types on > 4 character cards while using fill-in-the-blanks for 4-character ones.
