Pleco for Android requests, among others, permission to access the phone capabilities of my device. I understand other permissions, like for the camera to use the OCR scanner. But why does Pleco need the phone?
DRM - only way to get a unique hardware ID on some devices. If you look in more detail we're not actually asking for the ability to make phone calls, just the ability to 'read phone state + identity.'
