www.zhongwen.com like character explanations

Hi,

I find the information that http://www.zhongwen.com provides for each character to be very useful for learning. It lists the phonetic portion as well as the meaning portion (if there is one). For example, while 蜆 is not in zhongwen.com, when I first saw that character at a restaurant on Friday night, I thought I knew roughly how it should be pronounced, especially since I know that it is hin2 in Cantonese, and many Cantonese syllables starting with h start with x in Mandarin. Reasoning that 見 provides the phonetic, I suspected that it would be something like xian4 or at least xian. This sort of decomposition of characters helps me remember them and their individual components.

Does PlecoDict provide this sort of information, or is it easy to explore the subcomponents to see which is providing any phonetic component?

Unfortunately no; we've tried to license a data set to enable this but have been unsuccessful so far.
